Nate Holley
Running Coach
Nate Holley is a Chicago-based running coach with a lifelong passion for the sport. A Chicagoland native, he started with local 5Ks and youth track before competing in cross country and track at Marian Catholic High School. He later ran for North Central College (2015–2019) under Hall of Fame Coach Al Carius, embracing the philosophy: “Run for fun and personal bests.”
Following his collegiate career, Nate transitioned to coaching. First, he was an assistant cross-country coach at Kishwaukee Community College, where he helped two athletes qualify for nationals. He then coached at Heartbreak Hill Running Company, creating a supportive environment for runners of all levels. Now, as a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach with Inner Lane, he helps athletes improve their speed, endurance, and race-day performance.
Nate believes that every athlete has the potential to achieve their personal best with innovative, structured training and a supportive community. His coaching balances progress, enjoyment, and long-term development. He applies data-driven speed, endurance, and race preparation strategies while prioritizing injury prevention and sustainable growth. Whether coaching 5K runners, cross-country athletes, or marathoners, Nate helps runners refine their pacing, build strength, and train smarter to reach their full potential.
